We currently have $4,620.00 saved towards the purchase of the travel trailer, all but $20 of which came from the sale of our personal belongings. This is a long way from being able to purchase the travel trailer but we are confident the Lord will provide. Please consider making a donation and always keep us in your prayers!

We are very excited about our church moving into the new sanctuary building! Our old building was destroyed by arson in January of 2008. Our first worship service in the new building will be Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM and you are invited to attend! Please ask for us if you visit so we can know you were there!

We had ordered a magnetic sign to put on the tailgate of our tow vehicle and it came in today. This will give us more exposure when we take the truck out on the roads. Click here to see an image of the magnetic sign.

2001 F150 SuperCrew LariatMonday, November 3, 2008
We just purchased a used 2001 Ford F150 4x4 SuperCrew Lariat to use as our tow vehicle. The only down side is that it has 150,000 miles on it. But from what I have found, the F150 should be good for 250-300K miles before needing a major overhaul. It will take us a long time to put that many miles on it.

The next step is the travel trailer. So far we haven't received any outside financial help but we did send out letters to area churches on letting them know about our efforts. Hopefully, we will get a positive response. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

We now have approximately $5,800.00 so far from the sale of our personal items. This has been mostly from items that were easy to sell (a 4-wheeler and our pets) as well as the small savings we already had. We have a buyer for our 1999 Jeep Cherokee and the $4,000.00 from that sale will be used to help offset the cost of buying a different tow vehicle.

The $5,800.00 we have now plus the $4,000.00 from the sale of the Jeep will give us $9,800.00 total. We still have one more 4-wheeler to sell, a 2005 Kawasaki Prairie 360 4x4. We're hoping to get about $3,500.00 for it but so far have not had any interested buyers. What we have left to sell after that is just common household items that won't bring much, but we are confident the Lord will provide for this ministry.

We found out that our current vehicle (1999 Jeep Cherokee) will not safely tow the travel trailer. It would be at the Jeep's capacity and could be unsafe under certain road conditions. We are now looking into purchasing a used Ford F150 truck to pull the camper. As a minimum, the vehicle needs to have the 5.4L V8 engine, automatic transmission, factory towing package and an H9 or (preferably) B6 rear axle code. Keep us in your prayers as we look for a suitable used truck.

We visited an RV dealer today to see the Passport 195RB. The unit is much better than we anticipated for its size. Although 19ft sounds small, the unit actually has all the comforts of home (albeit on a smaller scale). They quoted us a price of $18,408.00 without any negotiating. We are confident that we can purchase the unit for $16,000.00 when we have the funds available to us. The unit comes from the factory with everything we need except for batteries and a solar panel to keep the batteries charged. We will have these items added as soon as we can after the trailer is purchased.

We are also discussing the graphics we'd like to have on each end of the trailer. We'd like to display a logo and our web site address along with a brief statement about our purpose. We are confident the Lord will provide the funds necessary for us to achieve what He wants us to achieve.

At this point, we have almost $3,500.00 of the $16,000.00 we need to purchase the travel trailer. This money came from the sale of our personal items that we will no longer need once we begin this ministry. Just $12,500.00 more and we'll be able to purchase the travel trailer. We are very excited about beginning this ministry and with your help we will be able to begin sooner than later.

The web site is now complete and the URL has been submitted to the major search engines. It will take some time for the crawlers to index the site, which allows it to show up when people search for keywords we use. Please tell your church members, co-workers and friends about this site. The more exposure we receive, the quicker we will be able to get this ministry off the ground.

We've narrowed our choice down to one model for the travel trailer. It is just 19ft long and has the bare necessities we need to live in it full time. It is the Keystone Passport 195RB. The MSRP is higher than what the trailer actually sells for, which should be around $16,000.00. We are praying we can find a used model for less than that.

This model is fully self-contained meaning it has a full bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. The kitchen consists of a 3-burner stove top and small oven, a microwave and a sink. The bed is a queen size with access on both sides so we don't have to crawl over one another if we have to get up in the night. Another nice feature is the grab bar near the door which will help me get into it much easier.

We often wondered how we could serve the Lord according to His will. We have no trouble speaking with people but never really had a way to meet many people, a way to travel around nor a place to live while doing it. The Lord laid upon our hearts this ministry, and through His word He said He would provide, all we had to do was obey. So we are.

We've prayed long and hard about this ministry and have taken the steps to get it going. We have discussed it with our pastor and he said donations could be sent through the church so they could be tax deductible. So from here on out, you will see the fruits of our labors as we follow God's call. Please keep us in your prayers!
